This was the 2 vs 2 World Cup final between two Auckland FC Professional Players (Finn McKenlay & Jonty Bidois) and a couple of 50-year-olds (Rob and Ange from Orcland Football).
Ange with the first serve. Of course it intentionally goes out to build false confidence in the Auckland FC players.
But look at her second serve, do you know hard it is to get the ball in that little corner? Impressive!
Finn and Jonty, both young, talented, physically fit professional football players from Auckland FC did well to get the first point of the match after an intentional mistake by Rob. Again, to give the young lads some confidence … before completely destroying it later.
The professional players did well to get a second point against these over 50-year-olds.
Yes, they just needed one more to win. However, Ange with her well-crafted serve with great backspin that Finn did not expect. Finn does manage to get the ball over the net but it goes out of bounds. Point to Rob and Ange.
The next point had some great back and forward there … you could see both teams oozing talent … which is how they both got to this final. 🙂 BUT, out of share frustration of being unable to beat some old dudes, one of the Auckland FC players stands on the net in hope that the match will be called off and thus avoid a humiliating defeat.
It looks like they couldn’t handle the heat.
Exactly how many players does it take to fix a net? You’ll see.

You can even hear the Auckland FC players on the sidelines saying their teammates were under a lot of pressure … professional players know it when they see it.
Unfortunately, a misplaced kick meant the ball went out… but by whom?
