New Zealand Northern League 2025
⚽️ Auckland City FC vs. Auckland FC Reserves ⚽️
Saturday 03 May 2025
We were at Kiwitea Street for the away game of Auckland FC Reserves team against Auckland City FC.
Reminds me of that meme where you have 3 spidermen pointing to each other.
Anyway … Yes, we’re talking about the reserve team of the brand new Auckland FC club vs. the multi-champion team that will be playing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

AND, you know the result that everyone expected … it didn’t happen. Auckland FC won the match 1-0 with a goal by Jonty Bidois in the 74th minute (which we recorded by the way). Even before the Auckland City FC red card in the 73rd minute (Jerson Lagos), both teams were battling toe to toe and the result could have gone either way.

For this game, The Port (Auckland FC supporters from Bay 22 and the south stand) came in numbers compared to other reserve matches and they brought the songs and the banter which you will hear a lot in the background of the match highlights. Even Ali Williams (co-owner of Auckland FC) came along to the game and joined in where the Port was. I was standing with them and you will hear that a number of the chants made me try to stifle my laugh.

At the end of the match, I recorded the AFC Reserves players coming over to celebrate with The Port. Just so you know, I did record some of the characters and fans who were supporting Auckland City FC at the beginning of the video.

Unfortunately, Ange and I are unable to go to all of the AFC reserves games but we will try our best. (You know, family is first!)
VAMOS AUCKLAND!
