New Zealand Northern League 2025
⚽️ Bay Olympic FC vs. Auckland FC Reserves ⚽️
Saturday 30 August 2025
Ange and I were at Olympic Park for the NZ Northern League game between the Bay Olympic FC and Auckland FC Reserves team.

The weather during this game was crazy. Started with blue sky and the odd cloud, then some freak storm hit where it rained torrentially. Of all the games I have recorded in the rain, this was the wettest. I got absolutely drenched. Even Ange stayed up in the clubrooms instead of down by the pitch. You’ll be able to see the players sliding around the pitch and the ball just plonking onto the ground instead of bouncing. It was funny at times when players are so used to the ball moving forward x amount when dribbling but today it wouldn’t move much and players would often run past the ball and then have to backtrack.

And then towards the end, the rain stopped, the clouds parted and we were given a gift of a beautiful rainbow. Well, that’s New Zealand weather for you!

This video has some of the highlights I recorded during the game including all four goals. The four Goals were:
⚽️ 3’ James Mitchell (Auckland FC Reserves)
⚽️ 28’ Jonty Bidois (Auckland FC Reserves)
⚽️ 53’ Own Goal by AFC (Bay Olympic FC)
⚽️ 68’ Jesse Gage (Bay Olympic FC)
FINAL SCORE:
Bay Olympic FC – 2
Auckland FC Reserves – 2
