A record 50,000 fans attended an U19 UEFA Youth League match at a sold out RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, Germany. This was the biggest attendance in UEFA Youth League history and it wasn’t even for a final, it was the round of 32 match between FC Köln and Inter Milan. Not bad for a Wednesday night.

And what a game it was!

There was a lot of action despite being 0-0 at half time but things started happening in the second half.

After a disallowed goal for Inter Milan after kick-off due to offside, another one came soon after for them in the 49th minute by Leonardo Bovio.

In the 80th minute the crowd went wild after FC Köln’s Fynn Schenten equalized.

While the FC Köln fans were waiting for the final whistle, in the 7th minute of stoppage time, Inter Milan’s Dilan Zárate ended Cologne’s European dreams with his late goal to make it 2-1.

In the 9th minute of stoppage time Inter Milan got their third goal via Roberts Kukulis to seal the deal with the match ending soon after 3-1. How amazing was it to have 50,000 local supporters coming out to get behind their U19 team.
