A Knight of Celebration
Rob and Ange had the privilege of attending a very special event: the first ever official Auckland FC Awards Ceremony, held at Soul Bar & Bistro, right in the heart of the Viaduct.

The evening featured an emotional ceremony recognizing the outstanding performance of Auckland FC players in the club’s first year of existence. Trophies and special mentions were presented, highlighting not only the sporting achievements but also the commitment, dedication, and passion that each member brings to Auckland FC.
The Auckland FC Awards

Goal of the Season
There was a QR code on all of the tables where attendees at this award night could watch replays of Auckland FC goals and vote for the best goal of the season. The results were the following:
3rd place: Jake Brimmer vs. Central Coast Mariners
2nd place: Guillermo May vs. Melbourne City
WINNER: Neyder Moreno vs. Newcastle Jets

Voted by season members of Auckland FC.
Nominees: Hiroki Sakai, Francis de Vries, Guillermo May
WINNER: Francis de Vries
Players’ Player of the Season
This award was voted by the Auckland FC players having to choose one of their teammates.
Nominees: Felipe Gallegos, Francis de Vries, Alex Paulsen
WINNER: Alex Paulsen

Auckland FC Club MVP
The Most Valuable Player Award
WINNER: Guillermo May

First Hat-Trick in Auckland FC’s History
WINNER: Logan Rogerson
He was presented with the match ball signed by the rest of the players after the match against Wellington Phoenix. The ball is displayed in a special transparent case.
(Controversial Take: Yes, this could have been Neyder Moreno’s award as he was the one that struck the ball towards the goal and it only deflected off Rogerson)
There was also an award for an Auckland FC team member who work behind the scenes but for privacy we haven’t included it here.
Here we are with Steve Corica (Auckland FC coach) and the Premiers’ Plate trophy for finishing first in the league.

Most of the players had to leave half way through the night as they had to get up early for a training session the following day. Everyone else, including Nick B. and Steve C., were on the dance floor showing their best moves until the end of the night. Of course, Ange and I kept celebrating and dancing until the very end as we always do.
Tonight was more than a party: it was a tribute to a team that has proudly represented our city. Congratulations to everyone who is part of this club!
Thank you Auckland FC for inviting us to attend the first ever Auckland FC Awards Night!
Here is some of what Ange recorded that night that we can show:
