Auckland FC vs. Perth Glory FC Highlights + A-League Premiers’ Plate Celebrations
These are some of the highlights of the A-League match between Auckland FC and Perth Glory FC on 27 April 2025, the last home match of the 24/25 regular season at Go Media Stadium.
We recorded the only goal of the match an “Olímpico” or “Olympic goal” by Marlee François in the second half. An Olímpico is a goal in football (soccer) scored directly from a corner kick without any other player touching the ball. This is the first one that has been scored in Auckland FC’s short history.

We also have the Liam Gillion goal that was cancelled for being offside. YES, Liam Gillion was back on the pitch!
We also stayed for the official handing over of the Premiers’ Plate for finishing the season at the top of the A-League. What a celebration! The team did a walk around the entire stadium thanking the fans on the east and west side of the stadium before ending up at The Port at the south end.

And if you look really closely, WE (Ange and Rob) are in this photo above. (Clue: Chilean Flag)
This is an IMPRESSIVE feat for a football club in its FIRST season of existence. The thing is, we were confirmed winners with two games remaining.
