This weekend we were at Shepherds Park for the game between Birkenhead United AFC and Auckland FC Reserves. It was a cold night and the pitch was very slippery. Apart from the ball skating across the slick pitch and many players slipping on the grass, it was a good match. At half time, it was still 0-0.
These are some of the highlights I recorded during the game including the two goals:
⚽️ 55’ Zachary Chung (Birkenhead United AFC)
⚽️ 84’ Semi Nabenu (Own Goal – Auckland FC Reserves)
Unfortunately for the own goal, I only recorded the very end result, not the lead up.
Final Score: 2-0
Interestingly, Finn McKenlay wasn’t playing nor on the bench, he was seen wandering around watching from the sidelines. Most likely because in his last match he earned his 5th yellow card of the season so can’t play.
